Because this is such a relatively new field, you
must do your research and chose your Permanent Makeup Specialist carefully. Do not make your choice based on cost or convenience but rather on the experience, skill and professionalism of the artist. This is a specialized practice requiring an astute eye for color, dexterity, fine eye/hand motor skills, and mastery of makeup artistry. There is no national or state licensing for Permanent Cosmetic Tattoo professionals in the state of California and almost all other states.
Sanitation requirements vary by county however, all practitioners are required by law to 1) receive annual training as required by the California Safe Body Art Act and 2) register with their local
Health Department. For more information on Health Department requirements, please visit Contra Costa Environmental Health.

Are you tired of drawing on your brows everyday or having them melt off on hot days? Did you tweeze or shave your brows and they simply refuse to grow back? Are your brows naturally light or sparse? If your answer is yes, then you are going to absolutely love your permanent eyebrows.
The eyebrows 'frame' the eyes and influence the total symmetry of the face. Unlike the harsh 'stencil looking' brows tattooed 15 to 20 years ago the techniques used by the LeMor Institute results in a more natural, softer appearance. Micropigmentation of the eyebrows can add fullness, shape, symmetry, and defined color tones to fair brows or to brows that have lost hair due to age or injury. Custom blended colors are placed in the brow area to correct an imperfect shape or to give brows a fuller appearance. We use your bone structure (not a stencil) as a guide to create the most flattering eyebrow design for you. Depending on the technique and colors used your permanent brows can have the appearance of natural hairs with our hair stroke methodology or have the delicate soft appearance of color from brow shadow. Whatever end result you desire your natural facial features will be enhanced.
You are going to be totally spoiled with your eyeliner. No more pulling on delicate eye tissue to apply or remove your eyeliner. Imagine not having smeared or smudged eyeliner. For gorgeously defined eyes or delicate eyelash enhancement, permanent eyeliner is your answer.
The color is applied using an applicator specially designed for facial cosmetic tattooing. This instrument gives us the highest degree of control for fine detailed work. Permanent eyeliner is applied with sterile supplies and topical anesthetics. Color is placed along the upper and lower eyelash margin (in between the eyelashes) giving you a 'fuller and darker lash' look, creating a soft subtle halo around the eyes. The effect is similar to the buildup of mascara at the base of the lashes. Lash enhancement is a more natural look that many people prefer. Other people desire a more dramatic make-up look. In this case, color is placed in between the lashes and above the lashes. If you are not sure which look you prefer we highly recommend a conservative approach. A more natural line can be applied during your initial visit. Later, if you decide to increase the thickness and/or darken your liner we can do that during your follow-up/touchup visit (within 4-6 weeks).
What should I expect? The procedure takes approximately 2 hours of which the tattooing takes about 1 hour. Topical anesthetic is applied to desensitize the lids and make the procedure more comfortable. Many of our clients comment that their permanent eyeliner procedures are more comfortable than their brow procedures. Immediately, after the procedure your eyelids will be puffy and slightly red around the tattooed area. The amount of swelling varies from client to client but usually everyone leaves the clinic looking as if they've had a good cry. Your permanent eyeliner will appear thicker and darker initially. As the area heals you'll notice some of the color (scabs) flaking off which usually occurs during the first week. This is normal and to be expected. The end result is well worth it! Please see our Photo Gallery .
For men, a very soft lash line enhancement is offered. Just a subtle addition of color is dotted around the lash line giving the eyes a 'dreamy,' sexy appearance. This look is absolutely fabulous for men of all skin tones.
Permanent Lipliner, Lipblending and Lipshading
Does your lipstick bleed? Have your lips lost their definition and natural coloring around the lip border? Imagine having lip color morning through night, 24 hours a day, throughout the year. Permanent lip color can give you the optical illusion of fuller looking lips without the painful and temporary injection of collagen.
Permanent lip color can be applied using several different methodologies. Depending on your personal preference, lip color can be applied only as a lip line to reshape and contour lips for a more defined sensual look. Many clients are deciding to have the lip line slightly blended into the lips for a softer less defined appearance. Another option is to have the entire lip filled with color for a more lipstick effect. You can chose colors that match your natural lip color or more vibrant lipstick tones. We highly recommend a color patch test to determine the right color for you. Selecting a color is a process that takes into account your natural lip color, your skin color, your lip shape and the desired base color. Unlike 10 to 15 years ago, lip color is applied with topical anesthetics or through a regional anesthetic lip block performed by a medical professional. A lip procedure takes approximately 1 to 2 hours. Immediately after the procedure the color will appear darker and brighter than expected, but usually fades up to 20 to 35 percent within 4 to 6 weeks. At this time a touchup is performed to put on the finishing touches. Your lips may go through several color changes. Around the 10th day the treated area may look as if the color has completely vanished. About the 14th to 16th day the color appears to resurface. Your lips may feel chapped for several weeks so be sure to keep them well moisturized with a lip balm.Beauty Marks
Do you want to have a permanent beauty mark? Are you tired of your penciled beauty mark smearing and disappearing? A strategically placed beauty mark can balance your facial features or help distract or draw attention from a problem area. This is a quick and easy session.
Permanent Cosmetic Corrections & Secondary Work
Are your permanent eyebrows blue or peculiar shades of orange? Has your lip color turned mauve or blue? Are you unhappy with your lip, eye or brow design? We specialize in color correction and secondary work. Often we find clients who come to us for secondary work originally decided to select a practitioner based solely on cost or convenience. Please do not make this mistake! The least expensive technician or the one closest to you is not necessarily the most experienced. Do not leave your personal appearance to chance. Please contact us first for a consultation.
Correcting someone else's work can be a complex, time consuming (and costly) process. Click here for more information on the true "cost" of permanent makeup. Click here to read one person's permanent makeup crisis story.

Skin Camouflaging for Scars, Skin Discolorations and Burns
Hypopigmented scars (light) or Hyperpigmented scars (dark) can be camouflaged with skin tone colors to help conceal the scar's appearance.
After breast reconstruction or cosmetic surgery, there is often scarring that can be camouflaged to natural skin tones and the natural color of the nipple-areola complex restored. This procedure is perfect for those born without color in the areola complex.
